It's official, United's ace winger is FIFA's World Player of The Year 2008.This was a first for an English-based player to win the top award.Cristiano Ronaldo's 42 goals in the 2007/08 season were simply instrumental in helping United to domestic and European glory. He managed to beat Barcelona's Lionel Messi and Liverpool's Fernando Torres to the award.
